MLB Betting Fans Look Forward to 2010 Season Opener
--

December 17 - Although this year's MLB season is done and dusted, with the
New York Yankees the World Series victors as they took down the Philadelphia
Phillies in October to take the title, at least MLB betting fans can look
forward to game 1 of the 2010 season.
On Sunday April 4, 2010 they can look forward to a showdown between the
defending champs and the top-rated Boston Red Sox. Starved of professional
baseball for so many months, MLB betting fans will no doubt be glued to their
sets to watch the season opener.
The game between the Yankees and the Red Sox will be televised live on ESPN2
across America. States that are home to the two teams will show the highly
anticipated game on local channels. Originally scheduled for the Monday, the
game was changed due to the cold weather.
Interestingly, in September this year NY Yankees powerhouse CC Sabathia
anticipated that the game would be changed. In an interview then he was quoted
as saying: 'It'll be cold. We know very well. I'm sure it will be a baseball
game on Sunday night or something, so it will be cold.'
And he was right. As for how each team plays in the season opener of the 2010
MLB season will remain to be seen. The bad news for MLB betting fans who always
back New York is that they'll have to wager on a Yankees team next year without
this year's MVP, Hideki Matsui.
The Japanese-born hitter was wooed by the Los Angeles Angels after the World
Series, who have reportedly agreed to pay the top player a cool $6.5 million per
year. However, the full details of Matsui's contract are not yet known. What is
known is that he will be missed by Yankees fans.
Said his agent Arn Tellem in an email sent to The Associated Press (AP), 'I can
confirm that we are in serious negotiations with the Angels.' In his seven
seasons with the NY Yankees, Matsui topped 100 RBIs four times. Even before he
came to play in the MLB, he was a big star in Japan.
