February 1 - There's only one thing to say about tonight's highly anticipated
showdown between the NBA's Boston Celtics and the Washington Wizards at the
Verizon Centre in the nation's capital, and that's game on! Game on indeed, as
these teams, both with their share of issues, prepare for battle.
NBA betting fans need to consider the Boston Celtics from late last year.
They were the team to beat in the NBA's Eastern Conference, particularly after
their dazzling win over the defending conference champs. But then, inexplicably,
the wheels fell off, and 2010 revealed a different team altogether.
Tonight in Washington D.C., the Celtics may have to dig deep, very deep if they
expect to stave off an embarrassing four-game losing streak, their first of the
season. That said, the Celtics have a couple of hot players who could help turn
the team's fortunes around tonight. Rajon Rondo for instance.
In Boston's very recent encounter with the Los Angeles Lakers, Rondo put a
none-too-shabby 21 points on the board for Celtics, as well as made 12 assists.
If he can maintain that kind of form in Washington tonight, then the Celtics may
have a better chance at turning the season around for themselves.
The Washington Wizards, meanwhile, should have the advantage over their
opponents tonight considering they'll be playing in front of their home crowd,
and the fact that they're aiming for their third straight victory. Which means
the team should be very positive and thus brimming with confidence, right?
Actually, not necessarily. There are many NBA betting fans who say the Wizards
are inflicted with 'inner turmoil' related to the shenanigans and thus
suspensions of gun-toting idiots, Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittendon. So
despite their recent wins, the Wizards could easily fall apart against the
Celtics.
Hence game on, as anything could happen this evening. For Washington Wizards
betting fans, remember that the last time your team won three consecutive games
was in April, 2008. For Boston Celtics betting fans, remember that the last time
your team lost four consecutive games was in January 2009.
