Scam Alert

--

Although there are many reputable sport book operators, unfortunately there are many scam artists as well.. There are numerous scams and we feature the most prominent ones here:

  1. Sport book Bonus and Sportsbook promotion scams

  2. So-called "watchdogs" sites that claim to "approve" operators, only for those operators to be thieves.

There are simply too many cases where a player unknowingly joins a Sportsbook by way of some special hook usually a bonus or improved odds then goes on the roll of a lifetime only later to learn the Sportsbook stop paying its customers, or that some fineprint prohibits them from getting their money.

For real, legitimate bonuses see our Sport Betting Bonus page!

Typical Sportsbook Bonus Scams

Some sportsbooks offer players a free betting bonus to join their Sportsbook. A player would then sign-up and find the money in their account (let's say $20), and all seems in order. The player wagers and wins. The player checks his account and it only shows $20! When he tries to cash out his winnings, the Sportsbook refuses to pay, stating "illegitimate practices"! This actually happens!

Another type scam involves sign up bonuses. A player deposits money, say $500. The sport book claims, let's say, a 20% bonus. The Sportsbook will give him an extra $ 100 in bonus money. The account balance reads $600. He then looses $100, and decides to cash in. When the check arrives its for $400! When complaining, he is told that his account has been closed because of being a bonus abuser.

Now there is nothing wrong with "non-refundable" bonuses as long as the conditions are properly explained. Click here to see our list of reputable sport books.
