As a sports bettor, you would know that there are a lot of sports books out
there. And they all want YOU and your BUSINESS! So how do you
separate the good from the bad and get them working for you? We have put
together some easy steps to separate the men from the boys!
Firstly, Sign up with a couple of books. Spread your capital around, get
lines of credit and keep several active accounts. Try and earn as many free bonuses
as you can and take advantage of whatever incentives they offer.
2. Do some research on the best lines or odds on a game
that are available. Sports books offer different prices and lines from one
other, as with any business - shop around! Bargain hunt for value! However,
remember that a successful sports book can't afford to discount every line, and
if they are, be very suspicious of their integrity and DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM.
The sports book represented on this site have been thoroughly checked and
accredited. Most bookies will undercut certain lines sometimes, and these will
vary amongst them, so if you have a couple of accounts, you can compare what they are offering,
prior to placing your bet.
3. A 1/2 point or a full point difference can make an
enormous difference in this industry and it is important that you recognise this
should you want to do really well in this business. When a sports book move its' lines or offers
a special deal on a particular day, you must be in a position to be able to take
full advantage of this. In Sports betting, a 1/2 point can break you, and if a
online sports book is prepared and willing to give you that 1/2 point, you
should grab that chance with both hands!
4. Ignore the special props, the bells and whistles. A
total waste of your time, and an even greater waste of your money. Black or Red?
Heads or tails? Who cares! Betting on pie-in-the-sky bets is time consuming and
the 1st way to start eating into and losing that bank roll. You don't know who'll score the
1st points or the 1st touch down, don't be tempted unless these are offered for
free!
5. Keep any teaser bets to a minimum. Punters get extra points
for teaser bets but sacrifice most of the value of their bet in return. Teaser bets are
helpful sometimes as a form of arbitrage, but that is only for the
advanced sports bettor! That for someone who really knows what he is doing!
6. BE PATIENT. Take sports betting seriously, and
your odds and results will get better over time. Do not place bets on gut feel /
iinstinct / hunches / past loyalty. Do not place bets on your old school team / home team
/ lucky team. Be patient when you have a bad losing week. Be patient when
you have a great winning week, and do not bet more than normal or take out your
money at this time. Most bonuses require that you roll over your deposit a
couple of times before they are paid out. Leave any winnings in your account and keep on
betting as per usual... be patient.
7. Should sports betting be a major adrenaline rush; winning
: an amazing high; losing : a horrific low. Should you find you have to bet even
though you have done no real research into it, then you are going to loose in
the long run. Sports betting as with any other type of betting, requires
that one remains calm, serious and reasonable in approach. Read up on as
much expert opinion as you can but make up your own opinions. Experts can only
guide, the final bet is your own entirely.
