Exchange Betting Safety Guide
Be careful! Betting Exchanges are dangerous if the player does
not know what he is doing.
The Exchange Betting model can tempt gamblers and players into a false sense of
security, luring them to bet more than they would normally. Combined with the
wide variety of bets and gimmicks on-screen, it is easy for a novice to get carried away.
The player must always take it for granted that the other players or the
player matching his bet is not an idiot, but rather a thoroughly experienced
player. Betting Exchanges do attract some very sharp gamblers, even some
bookies, and the beginner can be very gullible.
A player on an Online Betting Exchange must always PROTECT themselves.
1. Set a budget and NEVER overspend.
2. Do not just back any bet because you think the odds look good - do
your research first and then get expert opinion.
3. Compare the online odds with regular bookies. You are not going to
be forced to take a bet if the odds are not better?
4. Always shop around and try to get better odds than available (if time permits).
